Sweet Talk

Hello!

Today, I have a fun couple of Valentine cards to share with you.  For these cards, I used the Sweet Talk Bundle from Concord & 9th's January release.   I fell in love with this set when I saw the pretty fronds in the heart shape, and the dies that coordinated.

For the first card, I used the large heart image from the Sweet Talk Stamp Set, which I stamped in Versamark Ink onto Grapefruit Cardstock.  I white heat embossed the image, before cutting it out with the large heart die in the Sweet Talk Die Set.  Using the Pale Vermillion pencil from my Prismacolor Pencil Set, I colored in the open portions of the fronds.  I also stamped and heat embossed a second heart onto Pale Rose Cardstock, and die cut it as well (I only used half of the heart in the end).

With the Sweet Talk Die Set, I cut four of the fronds out of Wheat Cardstock, and a set of the smaller hearts out of Sea Glass Cardstock.  I layered the hearts and fronds together, and added foam tape to the back side.

On a piece of White Cardstock, cut to card front size (5.25" x 4"), I laid the hearts in place (with the foam tape backing still on) to see where to stamp the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment, from the Sweet Talk Stamp Set, with Sorbet Ink, using the MISTI.  Then, I removed the backing from the foam tape, and adhered the large heart cluster in place.  I added the smaller Sea Glass hearts with liquid glue, and then adhered a scattering of Fashion Gold Pieces.  The card front was attached to a white card base, made from heavyweight white cardstock, using foam tape.

For the second card, I stamped  the large heart image from the Sweet Talk Stamp Set, in Versamark Ink, directly onto a card front panel of Wheat Cardstock.  Then, I stamped and heat embossed the "XOXO" sentiment from the set onto Black Cardstock, before cutting the strip to size, and cutting the end at an angle.  I also stamped the "Be Mine" sentiment onto Pale Rose Cardstock, again using Sorbet Ink.

I die cut the smaller hearts from the Sweet Talk Die Set, out of Sea Glass Cardstock, and Grapefruit Cardstock.  Then I layered the pieces together using foam tape and liquid adhesive.  I again added a scattering of Fashion Gold Pieces, before attaching the card front directly to a white card base, made from heavyweight white cardstock.

That's the cards for today.  While I chose to go with a Valentine theme on my cards, the Sweet Talk Bundle would certainly work for anniversaries, weddings, and thinking of you type cards as well.

No Choice | Sweet Sentiment February Copic Coloring Class

Hello!

It's time once again to show the monthly Sweet Sentiment Coloring Class!  Today I'm showcasing the February class stamp set "So Much Love".

Copic Colored Image from the Sweet Sentiment February Coloring Class, on a handmade card with a stamped sentiment on a heart.

This image is super cute.  I colored it in with Copics (Because the instruction for this class also includes a list of marker colors, I do not share the colors used for the classes.) Then, I fussy cut the image.

I had purchased a few pieces of paper from the Simple Stories My Valentine line this year, and I knew I wanted to use one of those as the background.  I chose to add two heart die cuts - the white with the sentiment stamped on it, and the red to frame the white.  The sentiments were lined up and stamped to the side of the heart.

Aaaaaaand, this is where by execution failed me.  I had lined everything up, multiple times, to make sure I had placement correct, but when I added my image on top of the hearts, I placed it just a hair too far to the left, and covered a letter in my sentiment.  Ooops!  Good thing it's for my husband, and he KNOWS I'm a hot mess most days!

I popped the heart and image piece up on foam squares, and attached it to the patterned paper, then I trimmed the edges of the heart flush with the edges of the paper.  I matted the card front on black card stock, before adding it to a white card base.  A few white Nuvo drops finished the card off.

This year, Jammie is offering two options for the monthly class. You can get the usual class kit, with the adorable stamp set (while supplies last!), or you can get the kit, and an add on class the teaches you how to Color All The Things (CATT).  The CATT add on, teaches you how to create a scene for your character to live in.

This month's kit, features the stamp set, some action wobblers, and some fun fibers.  Remember, the videos will continue to be available, but the kits are only while supplies last - so be sure to get yours while it is available.

Golden Hugs & Kisses

I'm a huge fan of heat embossing.  Big surprise, I know., but I just love the way you can stamp something, and magically add a metallic sheen to it.  Usually, you see embossing used for a sentiment, or a line image.  For today's card, I chose to emboss the striped background of the card to add to the golden sheen from my sticker sentiment.

This handmade card features a stamped and heat embossed golden striped background, along with a beautiful gold mirror Lovely Words Card Stock sticker for for the sentiment. Perfect for a Valentine or anniversary card for your sweetheart.

One of the great things with the striped wall stamp, is that is pretty easy to line up to stamp twice and cover the whole background with horizontal stripe.  Just line the stamp up straight on your gridded block, and stamp near the top of your card front.  Than use the side edge of the stamp to line up the top stripe with the bottom stripe that you stamped the first time.

This handmade card features a stamped and heat embossed golden striped background, along with a beautiful gold mirror Lovely Words Card Stock sticker for for the sentiment. Perfect for a Valentine or anniversary card for your sweetheart.

A vellum circle, a few banner strips, and some punched hearts decorated the card.  Don't you absolutely love the Lovely Words Card Stock Stickers  They are GORGEOUS in person!  I'm definitely going to be stocking up.

Designer's Showcase Blog Hop | Love XOXO Valentine Card

Welcome to another Fun Stampers Journey Designer's Showcase Blog Hop!

♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥

This month we are featuring some Valentine's Day Projects.  Do you send Valentines?  I send a few out to my mom, grands, and, of course, my hubby.  It's a wide variety of types of "love" to share and send, so I prefer to keep some generic "love" cards in my stash.

I like clean, and pretty cards, so of course my card starts with some bright Whip Cream card stock.  I cut a card base, card front, and a mat for the card front from the Whip Cream card stock.  I dry embossed the card front.

I layered up my banners (the trick to getting the angles to match, is to line up the strips in your hand, with the bottoms and side that will be angled all together.  Then cut your angle - they'll all match, and blend well together!), and adhered them with White liner on the two bottom layers, and Craft Glue on the top, tiny, strip.

I heat embossed the swirly heart and die cut it out.  Then, I layered that with some hearts that were punched out, and then stamped with some tiny sentiments.  They look like little conversation hearts, and I LOVE them!  In fact, I loved them so much, I had to create a second project using the same idea.  Check out my Instagram, and Facebook pages for that second project!

Sending love

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching.  While I do give Valentines to my grands, and my hubby, I also like using all of the lovely supplies to create additional cards with a "love" theme, that I can use throughout the year when a friend or family member needs a little pick-me-up.

Today's card started with a white card base.  On top of that I layered a Real Red Mat, a strip of black stripe stamped card stock, a piece of gorgeous dots and hearts Designer Series Paper, and a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  I cut a heart out with the Sweet and Sassy framelets, and gave my Wink of Stella the day off, so I used some little rhinestone gems for bling today.  I added a piece of Basic Black - with my sentiment embossed in white - to complete the card front.

For the inside of the card, I stamped my sentiment, and added another heart cutout.  I added a small banner with a little stamped sentiment to my coordinating envelope.  (You can mail an envelope with the paper attached, but you need to make certain that the edges are glued down so they don't get caught in the sorting machines.   Either use liquid glue all the way to the edge, or by line up your tape runner slightly off the edge of the paper when you apply it.  Then, just rub the excess off off the edge.)

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,
