Endings & New Beginnings

Nearly two years ago, when I initially requested a Stampin' Up catalog, I had no intentions of signing up to be a demonstrator.

After signing up, I had no intentions of sticking around for more than 3-6 months.  I was there for the discount on a few items and that was it.

That was 21 months ago.

I've had an amazing time the last couple of years.  I've met some incredible people, had the opportunity to create some super fun projects, and to participate in some fun events.  I was part of a truly unique, and special, team of demonstrators, and the love and support that they offered was remarkable.

But, as with everything in life, there has to be an end.

As of this morning, I have submitted my resignation as a Stampin' Up demonstrator.  The reasons are neither here, nor there, but please know that there was a lot of thought put into this decision, and, once made, I've felt quite a bit of peace about moving forward.  There is no drama, no animosity, and I have nothing but respect for the company and it's employees - the time was just right for me to take a different direction.

This does not mean that I will no longer be blogging, and sharing my creations.  I was blogging my cards and makes for years prior to Stampin' Up, and will continue on.  My product base has just expanded!  I may not be creating with the same products, but my creative spirit is the same.

I so appreciate those who have followed me - both from the beginning, and only since recently.  I hope you know how thankful I am for you.  You are most welcome to continue to follow me as I continue on my creative path.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Heartfelt Thank You Card

By this point, you all know I'm a sucker for making a pretty Thank You card.  This one almost fell together as I was creating!

I stamped the diagonal stripes onto a piece of Smoky Slate card stock with the coordinating ink.  Then I cut a strip for the card - and have some left for the next card.  I die cut the heart shape and added it, off the edge of my white card front, and trimmed the excess off, before adhering the white panel to my striped piece.  I added off cut banners, one of which I stamped and heat embossed with my sentiment (I masked off the "from all of us" on the stamp, so that just the "Thank You" would stamp).

A scattering of rhinestones finished off the card front, and I attached it with dimensionals to the card base.  Super easy and quick!

Watercolor Shine Birthday Wishes

I had a need for a birthday card recently, and this was for a friend who likes watercolors.  I decided that I would use a very simple technique that I've used before, that creates a fun and pretty background.

I started with a panel of Shimmery White cardstock, and I heat embossed flowers onto the corners, using Silver Stampin' Emboss powder.  After that had cooled briefly, I started adding some color to the corners with my aqua brush.  I start with the lightest color first, and pulled it further in, then added the darker color to the outer corners.  The embossing resists the color I'm adding on top - leaving a beautiful, shiny image in the color.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped my sentiment, and used some dimensionals to add the panel to my card base.

This card was super pretty, and very easy to create.  The bright pop of color against the silver and Smoky Slate was gorgeous.
