Pink Poinsettia Tag | Part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags Event

Hello!

Today, I'm sharing a tag I created for the 10th Annual  25 Days of Christmas Tags Event.  Today is sponsored by Picket Fence Studios.

I began my tag, by stamping the Christmas Poinsettia Star image in Versamark Ink, onto Pale Rose Card Stock, and heat embossing it in Gold Embossing Powder.  I then colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils.  Once I was happy with the pencil coloring, I added a few highlights with a White Gel Pen.   Using a Circle Die, I rounded out the top of the tag, and used a Press Punch  to add the hole for some tulle and twine.

I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set, onto Rustic Rose Card Stock.  Then, I fussy cut around the sentiment, and applied foam tape to the back.  I layered the sentiment over the top of a strip of Mirror Gold, and Black Licorice Card Stocks,  and added it to the bottom of the tag.

I completed the tag with just a few Moonshine Sequins added with a bit of liquid glue.

Be sure to head over to the 25 Days of Christmas Tags Event to see more tags featuring Picket Fence Studios products today, or to see the other days tags!

Gilded Gift Boxes & Tags

I love having small thank you gifts around for when someone does something extraordinary for me.  Things like rescue my runaway dog, and bring him home, for instance...

The classic wrapped gift basket gets glammed up with the addition of some gold embossing, and a fun golden gift tag. Created with Fun Stampers Journey dies.

I recently found these absolutely yummy candles at the dollar store of all places!  They're gorgeous black and gold, and white and gold, glass containers, and the candles smell incredible.  They were perfect for something small for a gift.  I just needed to package them.

I used the Basket Makery die to cut out two baskets (you do not need to cut the handle, so cut your card stock to 8.5" x 8" to fit just over the basket area).  Then I used the Graduated Dots Background Stamp to stamp each flap with clear pigment ink.  (Mask off the other flaps and bottom of the box with Post it notes to keep the stamp from overlapping.)  I applied gold embossing powder and heat set it, before assembling the baskets.

I also die cut two Bread Tags, one of each color.  These also were stamped and heat embossed.  Then I added the Charming Thank You Die Set die cuts, that were cut from Mirror Gold paper.  I set a large clear block on the tags to allow them to dry flat, while I added some kraft color shred, and the candles to the baskets, and put them inside some cello bags.   I tied the cello bags shut tight with some twine (or you could use a rubber band), and then added my bread tag and a bow.

The baskets are super pretty!  Now I've got a couple more things stashed for my dog's next adventure.

"Awesome" Floral Gift Tag

For some reason, I often think of Oatmeal Cookie (kraft) as being a fall or Christmas color.  But it's just as gorgeous in the spring - especially paired with Whip Cream!  Today I have a sweet little gift tag to share with you, that's perfect for  all sorts of occasions.

This sweet little floral gift tag, with it's fun tassel, would be the perfect accompaniment for a gift for a variety of occasions. Created using Fun Stampers Journey stamps, card stock, and tools.

How I made the tag:

  • Die cut the largest Tag Elements die out of Whip Cream Cardstock. Dry emboss the die cut with the Mystic Impressions Folder
  • Die cut the leaves from Limeade Splash Card Stock using the Summer Branch Die
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a strip of Oatmeal Cookie Card Stock, and add a small strip of  Mirror Gold paper.
  • Glue the leaves onto the tag, and then glue the sentiment strip on top.
  • Add a flower from the Sweet Blooms pack, and three pearls along the strip of Mirror Gold paper
  • Use the press punch to punch a hole in the top of the tag
  • Make a tassel from the Twine, and attach to the top of the tag

This little tag is absolutely perfect attached to a kraft box, bag, or wrapping.

Designer Showcase Blog Hop | Christmas Tags

Welcome to another Designer's Showcase Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Christmas Gift Tags.

I love making gift tags.  They are all the fun of a card front, PLUS you get to attach them to a fun gift!  I chose to begin my tags by cutting the largest oval die with the piercing detail.

Both tags were embossed using Bloom Benefit Embossing Folders.  The Brocade Imprints Folder (on the "Christmas Tag") from the Annual Catalog, and the Ho Ho Ho Bold Embossing Folder (on the "Peace" tag) from the Holiday Catalog.

On the Peace tag, I used a large snowflake die cut with the Snow Blooms Die Set.  I mixed some Sparkle Silk and water on a pallet to the side, then painted it onto the snowflake.

I used the same technique to add sparkle to the poinsettias on the Christmas tag.  Both tags also included heat embossed and die cut sentiments.

The punch press made the hole in the top to add some Journey Twine, and organza ribbon to finish off the tags.

Espresso Swirls Gift Tag (plus gift!)

I have a friend who has been such an enormous blessing to me for the last couple of years.  She has been incredibly supportive and encouraging, when I've really needed it, and I'd been mulling over something small that I could do for her, to let her know how much I appreciate her.

Coffee themed handmade gift tag, created with the Espresso Swirls ATS Stamp Set, available from Fun Stampers Journey EXCLUSIVELY as a Bloom Benefit - spend $75 or more on any FSJ products, and choose this stamp set as a free bonus! Tag features no line coloring technique on kraft Oatmeal Cookie card stock.

I happen to know she loves her coffee, AND, I truly do think she's the best.  So when I found this coffee mug - I knew it was for her.  I created the gift tag to go with it using the Espresso Swirls ATS that is available as a Bloom Benefit.    I stamped my image with Oatmeal Cookie ink, onto the same color of card stock.  Then I colored it in using my Color Burst pencils.

Colors Used: 017, 048, 029, 044, 039, 020

For the gift that the tag went on, I added a couple of Via packets, and a couple of wrapped biscotti cookies to the mug, and filled it with coffee beans.  Then I used some clear cellophane to wrap the whole thing up.  When it is unwrapped, the coffee scent will fill the air.

It's not much, but I hope it helps my friend realize just how awesome I think she is!

Open House Projects | The Sweet Stuff

When I started reading about the Fusion Inks from FSJ, I knew one of the first projects I wanted to try was permanent stamping on a non-porous surface.  The display projects from the "Hey Honey" set, offered a perfect opportunity.

I stamped onto my glass jar with Black Licorice Ink.  Rather than burn my fingers on hot glass, I chose to put the stamped portion of the jar into the oven on low heat (about 200 degrees F) for 20 minutes.  I let the jar cool down in the oven with the door propped open.  I can run my fingernail over the images and they haven't scratched off, and I have rubbed them with a baby wipe with no issues.

To go with the honey jar, I wrapped a loaf of bread in parchment paper, stamped with the bee image.  I added another tag that was stamped and colored.
