Watercolor Shine Birthday Wishes

I had a need for a birthday card recently, and this was for a friend who likes watercolors.  I decided that I would use a very simple technique that I've used before, that creates a fun and pretty background.

I started with a panel of Shimmery White cardstock, and I heat embossed flowers onto the corners, using Silver Stampin' Emboss powder.  After that had cooled briefly, I started adding some color to the corners with my aqua brush.  I start with the lightest color first, and pulled it further in, then added the darker color to the outer corners.  The embossing resists the color I'm adding on top - leaving a beautiful, shiny image in the color.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped my sentiment, and used some dimensionals to add the panel to my card base.

This card was super pretty, and very easy to create.  The bright pop of color against the silver and Smoky Slate was gorgeous.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,
