Floral Boutique Folio

Have you ever seen a paper line and instantly known what you wanted to do with it?  And then, once you get your hands on it, you can't bear to cut into it because it's too pretty?  That's what happened to me with the Floral Boutique papers.   As soon as I saw them in the catalog, I knew I wanted to make a small folio album with them.  But it took a lot of building up before I was willing to cut into the beautiful papers.  In the end, though, I'm so glad I did!

I built the base of this folio with chipboard and covered that in Night of Navy Cardstock.  The spine is 1" wide.

On the cover, I layered several die cuts from the Flourish Thinlets along with a stamped image from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set.  I covered the flower image with my clear Wink of Stella pen, so that it shimmers when it hits the light.

Inside the album, I left a photo mat for a slightly larger image (3.5"x5") on the inside cover.  The stamped belly band on the mat is open, so the photo can slide behind it.

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up a could of the sentiment stamps, and stamped one in Versamark to heat emboss, and stamped the other in Navy.  Layered with a doily and a copper foil banner piece they create a secondary cover to the waterfall "flip" element in the folio.

Each "page" in the waterfall has a smaller photo mat, that is also a pocket.  There is a tag in each pocket, to provide a journaling spot, or another place for a smaller photo.

Each flip alternates with a dark mat on the papers with a white background, and a white mat on the papers with a navy background.

I finished off the back of the folio with an embossed sentiment from the Better than Email set.

I have to tell you that today's post requires some special thanks to my friend, Debbie.  I had created this folio album and gifted it to her, and when I got around to checking my footage for the video I had made, it was so grainy, and dark, and noisy, it was unusable.  So, Debbie took these amazing photos for me so that I could share this folio with you.   Thank you so much Debbie!

Just a reminder, that for a few more days, you can get this paper as part of the "Buy 3 Get 1 Free" Designer Series Paper Sale.  Check out all the gorgeous papers here.

I hope you enjoyed this album, and that it inspired you to create something with the gorgeous paper.  Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Bright Spirits

It's been a crazy few weeks around here!  Besides the long holiday weekend last week, the store I work at moved (so much STUFF, and it just keeps appearing!!!!), I've been refinishing some furniture for a much overdue refresh in my dining room, and the birthday season has gotten in full swing around here.  A couple dozen cards down, only a few dozen more to go over the next few weeks!

And then it's time for holiday cards!

I actually made this card specifically so I could stitch on it.  I really wanted to try a stitched border with the copper thread, so that was the starting point for the rest of the card.

I'm loving the copper from both the Annual and Holiday Catalogs!  It's so pretty and so much warmer than gold (not that I would ever give up my gold!).

Thanks for stopping by!
