Stripey Birthday

When I started today's card.  I had an idea for the layout, but really had no decisive thought as to what stamp sets I'd be using.  I hemmed and hah-ed a bit, but as I chose my sentiment, I knew that the card needed balloons!

I sponged my balloons to give them a bit of depth.  The easy way to do this when you have multiple balloons, is to lightly sponge the whole edge, then put your thumb where the light would be making the balloon a bit lighter, and sponge around your thumb.  You might get a little inky, but the balloons will all look consistent.

I VERY liberally coated the balloons in Wink of Stella.  It was a bit hard to get a good photo, but our local team discovered that Starbucks has GREAT lighting to see shimmer.  Maybe I should have taken the photo there?  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

PS.  Curious as to what I'm up to in between blog posts? Do you want to see other projects that I DON'T post about here on my blog?  Click on the little Social Media icons over on the right to follow me and see what else I'm doing!

  1. This is so sweet Sara! I love the sparkle on the balloons and the embossed sentiment on the vellum!
