Deckin' the Halls

The November-December edition of Through the Craft Door is available in the Subscribers Only Area of the website.
Greetings of the Season! Welcome to another edition of Through the Craft Room Door! For me, this adventure started one year ago when,  with a huge leap of Faith, Colleen Holmes handed me the reins of Through the Craft Room Door Website, Magazine and Challenge Blog trusting me to care for something she had put a lot of time and emotion into.
It has been an amazing year and  to celebrate there are blog hops happening all month long so make sure you follow along.
I hope you are ready for an awesome magazine adventure! The Design Team of Through the Craft Room Door has outdone themselves again and created some amazing tutorials and inspiration for you to try out!

There's a new Anything Goes challenge up at Through the Craftroom Door.  This is my final project for Through the Craftroom Door, as my DT term is ending.   I want to thank Cara, and all of the DT members that I've had the pleasure of working with throughout my term, for their amazing support and inspiration!

This week's sponsor is Frantic Stamper
The prize this week is: Square Seasons Greetings Die
Frantic Stamper Precision Die - Square Season's Greetings
And here's my inspiration card for you, featuring a printable image from Crafter's Companion.  This image was found on the Digital Crafting Essentials Volume 1 CD that was included in a magazine.

All of the project details will be available in an upcoming issue of Through the Craftroom Door Magazine.  Be sure to join in the challenge this week at the challenge blog.

Today I'm sharing these fun reusable ornaments with you.  The tag base is a chalkboard tag I purchased at Michael's.

These tags are fun, because you can write whatever sentiment on the tag with a chalk marker, and if you want to change it, you can simply wipe it away with a damp cloth.

You can even use the chalk marker to color your stamp, and then stamp on the tags - this works best with simple designs and you will still not get a completely clean impression - but it's chalkboard, it looks best when it's a little imperfect!

After you've added your sentiment, you can doodle a border, add some ribbon or trim, or add a few embellishments.  The chalkboard surface is fairly slick, so you can use glue dots or hot glue and change out the embellishments when you choose (stay away from E6000 or Glossy Accents, they bond to the surface and may damage the tag if you try to remove).

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed my simple ornaments - let me know which is your favorite!  If you're using the list to hop, Sandy is next!
