A Very Merry Christmas to You

I have a final Christmas card to share with you for this year.  This card is gorgeous thanks to the pretty papers (which are unfortunately sold out at this point), but is quite simple and quick to put together.

I heat embossed my sentiment onto Black Licorice card stock before die cutting the circle shape.  I then added foam squares to the back of the circle.

The background of the card base was layered with the SAME paper - just different sides.  This is a great trick to get the most out of every bit of the paper.  I adhered the stripe piece across the center of the poinsettia paper, and added a couple of the Berries & Holly gems to the candy cane stripe paper, after I placed the sentiment circle in the center.

Simple and pretty.  I love heat embossing anyway, but I always think it adds a special touch to holiday cards.

I will be back next Wednesday.  Have a wonderful, magical, Christmas!   If you are traveling, stay safe!

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Christmas Joy

Black, white, and a little bit of red make a perfect Christmas card.  I used the super cute deer print from the Christmas Cheer Prints, and the Flannel Life stamp to create my background.

I chose to echo the ornaments dangling from the deers antlers, by creating some small red ornaments using the Tag This punch cartridge.  Adding a little Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust finished off the ornaments.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Oh, Let it Snow!

December's Collection from Coach Collective is coming soon!  It's amazing - you are definitely going to want to get your hands on these tutorials

Come back on November 29th for a sneak peek of December's projects!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Today's card is very simply layered up with some of the fantastic prints in the Christmas Cheer Prints pack.  I'm loving the Snow Blooms dies, and heat embossing (as always!),   I heat embossed the snow bloom by smushing my ink pad over the die cut, and sprinking it with a mix of clear embossing powder mixed with Sparkle Dust.  After heat setting - the sparkle dust is trapped in the embossing, which makes for a less messy sparkle.

To get the background piece of vellum, I placed the Bubble Bubble stencil over my vellum, and smushed my clear pigment ink pad over the top of the stencil.  Then I added my gold embossing powder and heat set the pattern.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Christmas Botanicals

I've spent the last week and a half decorating the inside of my home for Christmas. (If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen a few peeks!)  I love this season, and love adding festive touches throughout my house.  One of the first things I put out are the garlands, plants, wreaths, and trees.  I love how adding these florals and greenery makes everything feel more "holiday" without any other pieces.

For the card I'm sharing today, I wanted to focus on some of these seasonal botanical elements.

I started with a background paper with the gorgeous poinsettias, berries, and branches.  Then I added a panel that had branches stamped in two colors of green.  I wanted to add a little more depth where the branches were, so I brought in a third, and softer, tone of green with some sponging.

A sentiment stamped in black , and a splatter of cranberry bliss silk finished off the panel, which was attached with foam squares.

Super fast, super easy, and VERY pretty!  One more Christmas card completed!

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Elf Shoes Christmas Packaging

Last night was our team Fun Stampers Journey Christmas party.  As part of the party we always have a gift exchange, which is all about creating fun, unique, packaging with the products from FSJ.   I love the gift exchange, because it is a fun opportunity for me to create an oversized 3D item, that I might otherwise not make.

This year, I chose to "create" my own gift bag.  I started with two toilet paper tubes, and covered them with some fun striped paper. Then I built up the bag by adding cardstock and details.

The bag stood about 15" tall at the top of the suspenders.  I chose to block off the bag at the top of the "legs", so the actual bag portion of the packaging was only about 4" tall by 3.5" at the widest part.

I drew out a basic elf shoe template, and cut the shoes by hand.  Then I added some mini jingles for a fun touch.

I realized that the skirt needed some extra something, so I used a white gel pen to add stitching, and cut some pockets that I stamped with some holly for a cute detail.

I think this bag turned out stinkin' cute!  It is tiny, with the configuration that I set it up with, but would easily be made a bit larger, by utilizing the space in the "legs" as well.

After we had dinner and did our gift exchange, we headed across the parking lot to a floral shop, where we learned to make boutonnieres and corsages.

It was a super fun evening.  I love our team, it's like a fun family.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

Designer Showcase Blog Hop | Fa La La Gift Card Envelope

Welcome to another Designer Showcase Blog Hop!  This month, we are featuring items from the Pockets & Lockets Special.   During November, jewelry, and select gift packaging items are on sale.  It's the perfect time to stock up for Christmas!

For my project today,  I used the Gift Card Sleeve Die to create a fun package for.....a gift card!  I give a lot of gift cards at Christmas, as well as other times of the year, so the gift card sleeve is a must have die in my craft stash.

I layered up the gift card sleeve, with some more card stock, and some fun Fa La La printed paper.  I added a vellum circle, and a die cut snowflake.  I heat embossed the sentiment onto a punched tag and glued it onto my envelope with a twine bow.

Poinsettia Card from Sketch

The team I am on, as a Fun Stampers Journey Coach, does a weekly challenge that varies from week to week.  This week, the challenge was a sketch challenge.  As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly what I was going to do, and it meant another Christmas card checked off the list!

Reds and white, with a bit of sparkly black and gold - perfect for Christmastime - don't you think?

And it really put me in a Christmas mood.  I'm breaking into my decorations this weekend.  I adore Christmas, and the magic around it, and hate limiting it to the busy few weeks right before the holiday.  I love having a few extra weeks to really enjoy my favorite things that only come out once a year.

As always, the supplies used are listed below.  Have you seen something that you would like to add to your craft stash?  I would love to have you as a customer!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Words

Another Christmas card for the pile!  I don't know about you, but each card I get made in advance of the Christmas crazies, makes me feel like I'm really on top of things (I'm not, but it feels like it!).

I love combining sentiments - the Text Happy Stamp Set makes adding a little extra something to to a basic sentiment easy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gleaming Poinsettia Card

In my world, it's never too early for Christmas.  We love Christmas in my house, and go all out - decorating our yard, home, and creating special handmade treats for those around us.  For many years now, I've sent handmade Christmas cards to my friends and family.  The list keeps getting longer - so the number of cards needed keeps growing.  Which means starting the process of creating the cards earlier and earlier!

For this card, I started with one of the $100 Bloom Benefits, the Brocade Imprints Embossing Folder.  I turned it backwards to use with some clear embossing ink brushed across the raised images.  I wanted something reminiscent of a fancy wallpaper, and once the panel was debossed, I was able to sprinkle on some gold embossing powder to fill the images.  Because it was not perfectly inked, this gave a very cool distressed look to the panel.

This handmade Christmas card gleams and sparkles with the addition of gold heat embossing, gold mirror paper, and DIY sparkle embossing powder. Featuring Fun Stampers Journey Christmas Cheer Prints, Poinsettia Burst Stamps, Holiday Script Stamps, and Brocade Imprints Embossing Folder. To order, visit: funstampersjourney.com/muchlovesara

I wanted to make some super sparkly poinsettias for this card, and really take the BLING level up.  So I pulled out an old trick, to make the flowers shine.

This handmade Christmas card gleams and sparkles with the addition of gold heat embossing, gold mirror paper, and DIY sparkle embossing powder. Featuring Fun Stampers Journey Christmas Cheer Prints, Poinsettia Burst Stamps, Holiday Script Stamps, and Brocade Imprints Embossing Folder. To order, visit: funstampersjourney.com/muchlovesara

I really like the way this card turned out.  All the gleam, and sparkle really appeal to may love of shiny things.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,
