Picket Fence Studios February Release

Hello!

It's the 14th of the month, which means it's time for a new release from Picket Fence Studios.  I have multiple cards to share with you today, so, let's take a quick peek of the entire release before we dive into the cards. (All of the supplies used on the individual cards, will be listed at the bottom of the post, for reference.)

Card #1 | Because of You

I began this card, by stamping the shoes image from the Hello Stamp Set  in Black Hybrid Ink.  I colored in the images with Prismacolor Pencils, then used my MISTI to stamp the sentiments into the center of the image.  First the "hello" in the same black ink, and then "the world is better because of you" in Cranberry Ink.  The finished card front was given an offset gray mat, and then mounted onto a card front made from heavy weight white card stock.

Card #2 | Congratulations

I began this card, by ink blending Weathered Wood Distress Ink, through the English Brick Wall 6x6 Stencil, onto white card stock.  Then, I stamped flowers from the Que Sera Sera Stamp Set, in Black Hybrid Ink, onto white card stock.  I colored in the images using Prismacolor Pencils, and then die cut the images with the coordinating dies. I stamped the Congratulations from the Fancy Congratulations Sentiments Stamp Set, in Versamark Ink onto navy card stock, and white heat embossed the sentiment. Then I cut the sentiment out with the coordinating dies.  I layered the pieces together, and matted the card front on another piece of navy card stock, before adhering it to a white card base.  The card was finished by adding a scattering of Gin & Tonic Sequins.

Card #3 | Life Sucks Without You

Once again, I began by inking the background of the card front.  This time, I used Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink, through the Center Flower 6x6 Stencil, onto white card stock.  I white heat embossed the sentiments from the Life Sucks Without You Stamp Set, onto a strip of gray card stock.  I die cut multiple sets of leaves from Vellum, and Mirror Silver card stock, using the Maple Leaves Dies.  I layered the pieces together, and matted the card front with more gray card stock.  The card front was attached to a white card base, and finished off with a scattering of Gin & Tonic Sequins.

Card #4 | LMFMO

This card is super quick and easy.  I cut a panel of pool card stock, and scored it so that I could make three folds in the center.  I folded white cardstock on either end, and attached small lengths of elastic, to create the mask.  Then, on light gray card stock, I stamped the sentiments from the Bless Your Heart Stamp Set, in Black Hybrid Ink.  I adhered the mask to the light gray panel, and then attached the card front to a white card base.

Card #5 | Hey You

I began this card, by die cutting the Sparks Cover Plate out of light gray card stock, and yellow card stock.  I adhered these together, slightly offset, and then backed them with a panel of red card stock, before matting it on black card stock.  I die cut the Hey You Word Die out of yellow and black card stocks, adhered the pieces together, and then coated the whole die cut with Shimmer Gloss.  I stamped a sentiment from the Ways to Express Yourself Stamp Set, onto red card stock, and white heat embossed it.  Then I trimmed the sentiment strip on both ends, and cut an identical black strip.  Finally, I die cut two ovals from teal and black cardstock.  I layered everything together with liquid glue and foam tape, and added it to a white card base.  The card was finished with a few scattered Moonshine Sequins.

Card #6 | Nothing Short of Amazing

I started this card, by stamping the image from the Nothing Short of Amazing Stamp Set, in Black Hybrid Ink, onto white card stock.   I colored in the image with Prismacolor Pencils, and then fussy cut the image out.  I cut a card front from pink card stock, and blended Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink onto it through the GeoSquares Stencil.  I cut a piece of purple card stock at an angle, and stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment onto it.  I added a strip of Mirror Gold card stock to the top of the panel, and then layered my pieces together.  I attached the card front to a white card base.  To finish the card, I added a few sequins from the Spiked Cider Sequin Mix.

That's it for today's release.  If I had to pick, my absolute favorite, must have, new products are the Fancy Congratulations Sentiments Stamp Set (of course with the coordinating dies), and the English Brick Wall 6x6 Stencil.  Though there are numerous other things in this release that I think I will reach for over and over.  What's your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Sara! I’ve been eyeing Picket Fence stamps for a bit and finally took the plunge. I just bought a few items. I wish my mom was still with us so I could share your colored penciled images. (she was an amazing artist and her last medium was colored pencils). Unfortunately I don’t have my mom’s talent but I love card making. I’m a stamper at heart so I’m always grateful for ways to work with outline images. But I digress. I just love your card, matter of fact I love all your cards! Thank you for sharing your awesome work, you’re such a creative artist! ( PS I promise that my comments won’t be so wordy in the future!) Happy Weekend!

    1. Hi Stephanie!
Thanks so much for your thoughtful words. I'm sure you picked up more from your mom than you realize. I'm still finding random things I learned from my Grandma, that I wasn't aware she "taught" me, I just picked them up from watching her.
I hope you enjoy stamping with your new goodies! There are so many fun images and sentiments to choose from. Thank you again for taking the time to comment! -Sara
