Simple Good Life

I adore the Prints from the Good Life Collection.  The more muted, and soft tones, and country/farm style graphics feel very familiar and comforting.  For today's card, I wanted to feature some of those pretty patterns, and chose to create a card without a sentiment - which allows it to be sent for a wider variety of reasons.

Layered farmhouse / country style prints, and gorgeous denim look ribbon create an amazing backdrop for the stamped flower image from Fun Stampers Journey's Flower Shower stamp set - colored with Journey Color Burst colored pencils.

I layered up my chicken wire patterned paper, on top of the blue buffalo check paper.  I wrapped a bit of the Cotton Chambray Shirt ribbon (LOVE!!!  This is a must have in my book!) around the layers, and then tied a small bow.  I layered this panel on top of the soft gray wood panel.

Layered farmhouse / country style prints, and gorgeous denim look ribbon create an amazing backdrop for the stamped flower image from Fun Stampers Journey's Flower Shower stamp set - colored with Journey Color Burst colored pencils.

I stamped and die cut the flowers from the Flower Shower stamp set, and colored them in with the Color Burst pencils.  This layer was glued onto the card front, and then I adhered the whole card front to a Whip Cream card base.  A few pearls up in the corner finished off the card.

I adore how this card looked completed.  The flowers pop against the denim look of the ribbon, and the pearls add just a bit more elegance.

Off they go

Today's wedding card just slammed the easy button into oblivion!

This handstamped wedding card was created using the Fun Stampers Journey Happy Couple ATS stamp set, and the Journey Color Splash pencils to watercolor in the image.

I started by stamping a panel of Whip Cream with the car image.  Then, using the Color Splash pencils and the small blending brush, I watercolored the image.  A tip when using the Color Splash pencils, to get the softest colors, is to pick up your color from the pencil with the brush - rather than coloring directly on the card stock.  Keep a paper towel near you as well, to wipe the brush off with, if you get too much water on the bristles.  The brush should be damp, but not dripping wet!

After I finished watercoloring, I stamped my sentiment, and then used a scrap paper to mask the image off while I sprinkled Sparkle Silk over the panel.  I matted the panel onto some Blue Lagoon card stock, and put that onto a Whip Cream card base.  This is such a cute little stamp set!

Oh So Happy

Simple & Pretty - it seems as though I'm always talking about how cards that are simple and pretty are my favorite.  A little texture, a little shine, and soft colors just make me oh so happy!

A soft, simple, and pretty card featuring Fun Stampers Journey Spread Love Stamp Set and Mystic Impressions Embossing Folder.

Today's card started with a Whip Cream panel that was embossed with the Mystic Impressions Embossing Folder.  This folder is one of the few that live at the front of my storage - pretty much constantly.  I just love the flowing flowers.  I added a strip across the front of River Stone card stock.  Then I wrapped some of the gorgeous Rustic Rose ribbon around , and tied a bow.  I matted that on more River Stone card stock.

A soft, simple, and pretty card featuring Fun Stampers Journey Spread Love Stamp Set and Mystic Impressions Embossing Folder.

The sentiment was heat embossed onto Tin Pail card stock using Rose Gold (ummm....duh?  I seem to have forgotten other embossing powders exist!).  I die cut that out with one of the Treat Label dies, and then, using the same die, cut two Rustic Rose pieces.  I cut those piece in half - one vertically, and one horizontally, and adhered them to the back of the sentiment piece.  This creates a slightly smaller mat than the next size die would have.  The sentiment panel was then adhered using foam squares.

A soft, simple, and pretty card featuring Fun Stampers Journey Spread Love Stamp Set and Mystic Impressions Embossing Folder.

A few pearls, and a little fiddling with the bow to make sure it was in "just" the right spot, and the card was finished.  The white, grays, and pink tone are so pretty together!  And I love that the sentiment is versatile.  It can be used for so many thing.  Who, and why, would you send a card like this to?

Floral & Sage Thank You

The Cement Tile stencil was one that I *may* have actually squealed when I saw it for the first time. It's such a pretty design, and I knew it would be gorgeous with modeling paste, or ink (or maybe even on cookies - wedding cookies perhaps?).

Fresh Sage and a soft blue floral print combine with copper embossing in this pretty card created with Fun Stampers Journey Cement Tile stencil, and Everyday Script Stamp Set.

Today's card began with the back panel of Fresh Sage covered in  modeling paste.  I cut a smaller panel of the floral paper from the Good Life Prints, wrapped with a die cut vellum border and some Fresh Sage satin ribbon.  The printed panel was matted on additional Fresh Sage card stock.

Fresh Sage and a soft blue floral print combine with copper embossing in this pretty card created with Fun Stampers Journey Cement Tile stencil, and Everyday Script Stamp Set.

I heat embossed the sentiment and die cut it with the coordinating die, then attached it to the printed panel.  The (dry) stenciled panel was adhered to a Whip Cream card base, and then printed panel was added with foam squares.

I love the cool tones of the blues and soft sage, mixed with the copper.  This combo may be coming back - especially with fall approaching!  (Someone please say fall is approaching - I'm melting and need the hot summer days to end!).

Showered in Love

I love the PanPastels.  They are super creamy and fun to play with in a variety of techniques, but one of my all time favorite things about them is just how nicely they blend and fade out on card stock.  It's so easy to get a beautiful ombre look to a panel as you blend them out, and unlike ink blending, you won't have harsh lines if you start too far in, or have a ruined panel if you drop the sponge.  PanPastels erase with a standard pencil eraser, so it's easy to correct any issues or stray marks that do happen.

The metallic PanPastels are probably my favorite, but if I could choose only one color set to have, it would be the Confectionary Days set.  It was the first set I purchased, and is still the one I reach for most.  I love the lighter pastel colors - particularly the Cool Pool, which I used on the background of todays card.

I stamped the Umbrella and banner on Whip Cream card stock, and then die cut them out, as well as cutting a circle, and a pierced rectangle.  I blended the Cool Pool PanPastel on the circle - concentrating the color on one side, and fading it out.  Then I stamped two heart stamps coming down from the darker color.  I attached the circle to the rectangle using craft glue, and trimmed the overhang off, and then sprinkled Sparkle Silk over the top of my card front.

I added the umbrella, again with craft glue, and then attached the banner with foam squares.  The card front was attached to the card base with foam squares as well.

Rose Gold Wedding

I love wedding cards that are white and textural.  For some reason, that's what I reach for when creating wedding cards - always with a bit of a metallic sheen from embossing powder.

This pretty wedding card, in white and rose gold, was created using Fun Stampers Journey Happy Wedding Day stamp set, and the Flower Power stencil.

I started the project by using the Flower Power stencil, and clear embossing ink on a piece of Whip Cream Card Stock.  I pressed the ink through the stencil with a dauber.  Once the panel was covered, I removed the stencil, and lightly brushed it with the Rose Gold PanPastel on a sofft tool.  I dry embossed another panel of Whip Cream with the layered scallops embossing folder, and stamped and heat embossed my sentiment on a scrap piece of Whip Cream - then I die cut the sentiment.

This pretty wedding card, in white and rose gold, was created using Fun Stampers Journey Happy Wedding Day stamp set, and the Flower Power stencil.

I trimmed the PanPastel layer to allow it to show a border of the scalloped layer.  I wrapped a piece of organza ribbon around the floral panel, and tied a bow.  Then I adhered the two layers together.  My sentiment panel was attached with foam squares.  Then I attached the card front to the card base with foam squares.  I added a few scattered pearls.

Make A Wish

We're fast approaching birthday season in this family.  From the first of September through mid-November the calendar reads birthday after birthday.  So building up the card stash is imperative at this point!

This bright and cheerful birthday card, was created using the Birthday Candles Stamp and Die Set, and the Confetti Fun Stamp, from Fun Stampers Journey.

For today's card, I began by stamping a piece of Whip Cream card stock with the Confetti Fun stamp.  This stamp is sized at 1/2 of a card front, so you stamp once on the top of the card front, then rotate the stamp 180 degrees, and stamp the bottom.  I stamped in clear pigment ink, so that I could coat the card in gold embosing powder and have a fun, gilded, panel.

This bright and cheerful birthday card, was created using the Birthday Candles Stamp and Die Set, and the Confetti Fun Stamp, from Fun Stampers Journey.

I stamped my candles, and the flames, onto a scrap piece of Whip Cream.  The candles have a matching die, however, the flames do not.  They are very simple to fussy cut however.  I added some wicks to the candles with a spare pen, and adhered the flames on.  I then used a waterbrush to add a little sparkle silk to each flame.

This bright and cheerful birthday card, was created using the Birthday Candles Stamp and Die Set, and the Confetti Fun Stamp, from Fun Stampers Journey.

I die cut a piece of Lemon Drop with the scallop border die, and added a strip of Black Licorice on top.  The border was a little tall for what I wanted, so I used my trimmer to cut it down to size.  I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment onto Vellum and then assembled my layers.  The entire card front, was added to an A2 Whip Cream card base.

Spread Love

I only recently began purchasing the Liquid Colors from FSJ, and now I'm wondering why I didn't start so much sooner!  These fun water based colors are perfect for an easy watercolor wash on a card.

With a pretty watercolor wash, sparkly splattering, and beautiful heat embossed sentiment, this card is a lovely way to wish a bon voyage, good luck to a first time college student, or just because you want to send some love. Created using Fun Stampers Journey Spread Love Stamp and Die Bundle, and other FSJ products.

I started this card with a wash of Cool Pool Liquid Color on the left side.  I used my Heat Gun to dry the card stock, making sure to alternate between the back side and front side of the paper.  This helps the card stock to dry slightly flatter than just heating from one side.  I sprinkled Sparkle Silk over the water colored area, and adhered my heat embossed sentiment with a bit of craft glue.

I adhered the panel to a strip of Mirror Silver paper, and a strip of wrapping paper.  Then I adhered the card front to a Whip Cream card base.  Using craft glue, I added some punched hearts, and sequins.  As a final touch, I added some Journey Glaze to the hearts.

Peaceful Snowfall

As I'm writing this, we've reached that point of a western Idaho summer, where I start day dreaming of shoveling snow.  It's so hot that winter is starting to look appealing!  I'm going to lock myself in the craft room with the AC cranked up and a few fans going, but meanwhile, I'm going to share this pretty little winter-y card.

This pretty color combo lend to the chilly, wintery, feel of this card. Created using Fun Stampers Journey Snow Bloom Die Set, and the Holiday Script Stamp and Die Bundle.

I started this card out by embossing my Tin Pail card front, and then sprinkling some Sparkle silk across the background, concentrating it on the right side.  I die cut my other pieces, and then rubbed the snowflake with some Silver Pan Pastel.  In person, there is almost a pearlized effect on the snowflake.  I layered the vellum border with strips of Mirror Silver and Pool Play, before adding my Scallop Circle on some foam squares - trimming the excess off - and then adding the snowflake.  A heat embossed (and die cut) sentiment, and a few fashion silver pieces finished off the card.
