Welcome to another Crafty Friends Blog Hop. If you have not joined us for one of our hops before, the Crafty Friends Blog Hop is a group of friends who have all shared some common crafty beginnings, and we hop each month with a spotlight on a company we love. 

This month, we are spotlighting products from The Stamp Market.

For my card today, I used the "Bouquet of Kindness" Stamp Set, as well as the "Criss Cross Background" Stamp.  I've used both of these sets in the past, but I just love them!

I began by stamping the floral image from the "Bouquet of Kindness" Stamp Set onto Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper with Gina K Designs "Barely There" Amalgam ink.  Then I used ALL the coloring things (Not really, but close!) to color in the image.  I began with the Copics to get a nice saturated base, then added colored pencil shading and details.  Because I go through certain shading colors so quickly, I've supplemented my ColorBurst pencil set with a few Prismacolor pencils.

Copic Colors Used: 

E0000, YR00, YR02, E08, Y00, Y08, E47, YG93, G21, YG99

ColorBurst Pencils Used:

09, 018, 019, 023, 037, 040, 048

Prismacolor Pencils Used:

PC947, PC1026, PC1065, PC1079

Once I was happy with my coloring, I added a few details with a white gel pen, and then die cut the image into a heart shape, using the second largest die in the Heart-Felt die set.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in Copper Embossing Powder.  

I stamped the "Criss Cross Background" Stamp in River Stone Ink onto a piece of Tin Pail card stock.  Once stamped, I die cut the same heart shape out of the background, then matted the stamped panel onto a piece of River Stone card stock.  I adhered the stamped heart piece to the card front with foam squares. This allows a "shadow" to show when the card is held at an angle.  

I adhered the card front to a white card base, and added a few Nuvo drops to add a bit of subtle shine.

Kind, So Kind

Hello!  

I've really been into my Copics lately, but I don't want to forget my other coloring mediums!  I sat down a while back to play a little bit more with my watercolor, and regular colored pencils.  I stamped out several images and was trying a few different techniques.  The flower on today's card was my favorite of the images from that little play time, so I had to make it into a pretty card.  

I used two stamp sets from The Stamp Market on today's card.  The floral image and sentiment are from the Bouquet of Kindness stamp set, and the striped piece was created with the Diagonal Pinstripe stamp. 

I began the card by stamping the floral image onto a card front sized piece of white card stock, I also stamped a full card front sized piece of the stripes.  The remainder of the striped piece can be saved for other projects.  I then colored in the image using my Color Burst pencils.   I used a flicking motion on the petals of the flower, similar to the motion you would use to create lines in hair.  Each layer of color was added using a light touch, so that they would all blend together well. 

Pencils Used: 03, 04, 09, 19, 21, 22, 28, 29, 34, 39, 40, 41

I decided on a 1/2" strip of the stripes, so I laid the piece on the image - right at the edge - and marked where the strip would start.  Then I used a craft knife to cut around my floral image so that I could tuck the striped piece behind the image.  If you cut right along the edge of the stamped line, then any overcut that you may have made will blend in with the stamping once everything is glued down.  I used liquid adhesive to attach the strip so that I had a bit more time to get it perfectly in place. 

I then stamped and heat embossed the "Kind" sentment, and then stamped the "So Kind" sentiment beneath it.  The MISTI allowed me to line this up into the perfect spot.  I matted my panel to a piece of Mirror Gold card stock, and then attached that to a Whip Cream card base.  A few dots of Nuvo Gloss White Crystal Drops finished off the card. 

This floral stamp is so pretty on it's own, and is gorgeous with a variety of different coloring techniques.  What would you use to color it up?

Months ago, my friend Becky Roberts, sent me over to check out this brand called The Stamp Market.  They have this perfect combination of elegant, cute, and beautifully simple stamps that I instantly adored.  And they have a bunch of really beautiful background stamps that help you to create the perfect backdrop for your cards in any color you want!  I recently placed an order that included a few of these stamps, and have to say, I'm even happier with them in person - and I've added several more to my wish list!

Today's card features two of The Stamp Market's stamp sets.  The Criss Cross Background Stamp, and the Bouquet of Kindness Stamp Set.  I love the contrast of a warm peachy-coral tone, and a cool blue, so that is the color palette I chose to work with on this card.

I began by stamping my background with Pool Play ink, onto a card front sized piece of card stock.  I then stamped my floral image onto white card stock, using the black amalgam ink (This is my new favorite ink for Copic coloring - I didn't even try to stay away from the edge with my markers, and no smears!)  I colored the image in with Copic markers, and then fussy cut the image - there is a coordinating die, but I don't mind a little fussy cutting!

I stamped the "So Kind" sentiment in Catalina Splash ink, onto Pool Play card stock.  Then, I stamped and heat embossed the "You've Been" sentiment stamp, onto a strip of vellum.  I layered my elements together onto the card front, making sure that the fussy cut leaves tucked under and over the Pool Play strip.  I attached the card front to my card base with foam squares, and then added a few scattered Fashion Gold pieces to carry the gold from the embossing into another element.
