Birthday Pillow Box

Are you ready for a party?  How about 613 Avenue Create's THIRD Annual Block Party?
I can hardly believe that this is the third block party I'm participating in!

To celebrate, the optional twist to our Anything Goes Challenge, is to create a birthday or anniversary project.

Today, I'm using "Cupcake Teddy" from one of our great sponsors, Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

I chose to make a pillow box for my project this week.  I find that birthdays seem to sneak up on me a lot more than they used to, so having something like this that I can fill with candy and add some cash or a gift card to is always handy.

I used a couple of cuts from the Silhouette store (#1184, and #6983) for the box and the candle shape.  The image was colored in using my usual mix of Copics and a few additional pencils for depth.  The ribbon was some I had left over from Christmas - I believe it was a really inexpensive ribbon from Walmart.

I set aside all my anxiety about it, and took a pair of scissors to my sentiment stamp in order to separate it out to stamp on my image.  It worked!

Be sure to stop on by 613 Avenue Create this week for inspiration from the rest of the DT and to join in with our party!

To the Moon and Back

It is time for another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create - and this week the optional twist to our Anything Goes Challenge is to include the Moon and Stars in your creation.

I'm working with one of our generous sponsors - Bugaboo Stamps today.  The image I have colored is called "Fairy Kid Sitter"

My card is super simple.  I colored my image and cut her out.  I cut a circle shape into some gold pearlized paper, then cut a smaller circle shape our of one side of that to create the moon.  I added some shadows and details with my Copics.  I used a small star punch from Studio G to cut some gold stars.  I layered all of this on my background paper, which was inked with Prima chalk ink in Farmer Jeans.

For my sentiment, I broke out my Heidi Swapp Foil.  This was one of my first times using it, so it was an adventure.  I printed "love you to the moon and back" on my computer and foiled it, before cutting it into a small double fishtail banner, and inking it with the same Prima ink.

Please come join us at 613 Avenue Create this week, and be sure to check our the other gorgeous creations by my teammates.

Thanks for stopping by!

Believe in Magic

I'm back again with another card for the challenge over at 613 Avenue Create!  This week our twist on the Anything Goes Challenge, is to create your own challenge using the table I've marked below.

The wonderful sponsor that I was able to work with this week is Bugaboo Stamps.

I was using the "Unicorn" image from Bugaboo.  I used my Distress Markers to watercolor the image.  Then I used Stickles (both in clear and gold) to add some sparkle to the unicorn's horn and hooves.  I little bit of Glossy Accents was added to the eye for some depth and shine.  I topped the flowers in the image with some I punched our of scrap cardstock, and added some buttons from my stash to the centers.

I prepped some patterned papers from my stash in a couple ways.  The floral paper had a design added to it using a stencil I have (it was a cheap set of various patterns from Walmart), and some glitter embossing paste.  I used a Stampabilities stamp and Versamark to stamp on the blue dot paper, and then heat embossed the panel with some gold embossing powder.  I backed the panels with a piece of solid aqua card stock and some pearlized gold paper.  I also added a bit of satin ribbon from my stash.  Then I added the panels to my square card base.

I stamped the sentiment (for both the inside and outside) in Versamark and again heat embossed them in gold.  I cut a fishtail on the paper strips, and I added a few tiny gemstones for some bling.
