Grunge Foliage Thanks | Multicolor Stamping Technique

Hello!

Today's card involves a lot of inking of various colors on one stamp.  I used the new Grunge Foliage Stamp in my MISTI, which allowed me to stamp multiple times in the same place on the paper.  The stamp is one of the 3.5" stamps with a repeating pattern.  You can cover any size of card front, by lining the stamp up along the edges.

I placed a piece of white card stock in the MISTI, and then inked the stamp with various colors of Distress Inks.  Initially, I inked the stamp with Speckled Egg, Bundled Sage, and Peacock Feather Inks.  I inked with the lighter inks first, patting the ink pad in various spots on the stamp, then added the darker color.  I misted a little water, lightly over the stamp, then pressed the stamp into the paper, and then inked it a second time with those same inks - trying to reink vaguely in a similar pattern.  I, again, misted the stamp, then pressed the stamp to the card stock.  Then I repeated the process inking with Rustic Wilderness and Prize Ribbon.  The darker colors were inked in a much more splotchy pattern, in order to allow the lighter colors places to come through.  I stamped the darker colors twice, and then cleaned the ink from the stamp without removing it from the MISTI, so that I could finish stamping the panel.  I moved the card stock, and then repeated stamping the lighter inks first, then the darker inks.   (Please note: I linked the larger Distress Ink Pads here in order to link the individual colors, however, the mini pads work best for this type of inking on a stamp.  Unfortunately, at the time I'm writing this post, it appears as though most of the colors of the individual mini pads I used are out of stock. They are still available in the multi packs though, or you can make the larger pad work for you.)

I matted the trimmed panel onto gold mirror, and navy blue card stock, and then cut the new Thank You Word Topper Die from both the gold and navy card stocks.  On the navy, I white heat embossed a stamp from the Word Topper Dies Subtitles Stamp Set.

Everything was layered together, and adhered to a white card base.   I added a few Gradient Flatback Pearls in Navy Blue and Charcoal Gray to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!
