Not Worth the Jail Time | Sweet Sentiment January Class

The January Sweet Sentiment Coloring Class is so cute this month.  Perfectly snarky and fun!

This year, Jammie is offering two options for the monthly class. You can get the usual class kit, with the adorable stamp set (while supplies last!), or you can get the kit, and an add on class the teaches you how to Color All The Things (CATT).  The CATT add on, teaches you how to create a scene for your character to live in.

This month's stamp set is called Hope This Year Doesn't Suck (See, snark.  Love it!)  It features the adorable main image, as well as a handful of sentiments to go along with it.  There's also a really pretty stencil that I adore.

I stamped the image in Gina K Amalgam Ink in Whisper, then colored it along with the video instruction for the class.  Like last month, I had a few colors that Jammie used that I did not have, but was able to easily swap them out for ones I did have.  Once colored, I fussy cut the image out and added foam squares to the back.  I set that aside to work on the background.

I created the background with Distress Oxide Inks, directly onto the card base.  I put a piece of Painters tape along the bottom third to create a distinct line, and blended Hickory Smoke Ink below that.  I also added a bit of Black Soot under where I was layering my image, to create a shadow.  Then I moved the tape to cover the portion I just inked, and layered my stencil over the background.  I blended Stormy Sky, and Salty Ocean inks over the stencil, and then carefully removed the tape.  The sentiment was stamped in Gina K Amalgam Ink in Black, before I added my image to the card front.

Very easy card that will be so much fun to send to someone!  Go check out the monthly classes, and see the class coming in February - super cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used**:
Use this easy list to find the products I used in my projects. (Contains affiliate links - where I earn a commission from purchases made from my links, at no cost to you. Your support helps me keep this blog going, and continue to create - Thank you! Affiliates and disclosures can be found here.) Please note, when possible, I try to offer multiple sources for the items I use. Products with two or more logos - underneath, or on the side, give you options of where to purchase, in case the item has sold out at one shop. To visit the first store, click on the photo of the item. To visit the second (or greater) source, click the logo for the second shop - you will still be taken directly to the product.

**If a particular item I used was out of stock when I was preparing my post, or the item I used was discontinued, I have provided a link to a similar item - that is available - when a substitution would not affect the card design.
