Over the Moon

There are so many new things going on with Fun Stampers Journey.  A new catalog, new colors, new logo, AND...new starter kits if you are ready to join the Journey.  I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the amazing value in the newly revamped starter kits.  Each offers business supplies, as well as a product credit to choose the products that suit your OWN creative style, and a discount of 50% off a die cutting machine of your choice.  That's a pretty amazing value on it's own, but then if you "Want it All" the larger kit also comes with the FSJ Essentials Pack, to get you started out with some basics right away (and it includes Sparkle Silk!!!).

Are you ready to join team Love & Ink?  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.  I am very excited about FSJ, but will also be completely honest with you.

We've already reached day four of the catalog launch week!  Can you believe we're halfway through the week already?  Today I'm sharing another card created with the I Believe stamp set.  This one had a bit of a catastrophe during assembly...did you know that if you shake Sparkle Silk and the cap isn't on tight - it makes one heck of a mess?  I found that out.  Luckily it's water based, so it cleans up easily.  I was just REALLY sparkly for the day.  Sparkle Silk makes great body glitter, in case you ever need that information!

The card for today started out with a card front cut from Black Licorice card stock.  I used PanPastels to create a colorful haze to the background, and then added Sparkle Silk stars to the background.  I heat embossed my sentiment in the upper left corner, and used the new In Motion dies to cut a slider for my stamped astronaut.

I used pennies as the mechanics of the slider.  Simply attach one penny to the back of the piece you want to move with White Liner or another strong adhesive.  then add a double stack of small foam squares (the small ones fit perfectly in the slider, although they will allow for rotation.  On the straight sliders, you can use a larger square cut in half to stabilize your element).  Then put another penny on the back side of the slide, and feed the squares through the slide to attach.  I used a bit of White Liner as a little extra sticky on the pennies to keep the foam squares attached.  When you add your card front to your card, used foam squares so there it a bit of room for the penny to move.

To create the moon, I used a faux Acrylic Pour Technique.  I cut a circle of Whip Cream card stock, and used my clear pigment ink to coat the circle.  Then I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set the powder.  I repeated this process 5 more times (6 coats of embossing powder total), then rubbed my Rock Candy ink pad across the top and heat it again.  The ink melts into the embossing, lightening it, and giving it a mottled appearance.  I repeated the ink application, until I was happy with the coloring, and then generously splattered Sparkle Silk over the piece.  Once melted in, this gave me a beautiful moon to add to my card.

I've had so much fun playing with this card, and moving the astronaut around.  This would be a such fun card for a child!

Thanks for stopping by!
