Birthday Balloons

Holy SNOW!  I've run out of places to put it.  My car isn't coming out until it melts.  And then to top it off, today is FREEZING cold.  I've already had to pull apart my washer to clean ice out of the drain hose (super fun project by the way - let me tell you).  As soon as I get the housekeeping in order, I'm locking myself in the craft room with the heat turned up!

My style has changed a lot over the years. Lately, I'm really embracing a cleaner and simpler style than I used to create in - especially when it comes to something I'm making a lot of.   Today's card is my January birthday card, and between the busy holidays, and getting over a nasty cold, I wanted something easy, yet still fun and cheerful to send out.

I stamped the balloon strings on my card base first, then was able to position the punched balloons before stamping my sentiment.  I specifically chose Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight, because they are the most cheerful colors to me.  I love the combo, and think it makes for a fun gender neutral card.

I used a white gel pen to draw some shine marks on the balloons, and then coated the balloons in shimmer with my Wink of Stella pen.  They are SUPER sparkly in person.

My favorite part about this card, is that, while it is super simple, it is also easy to customize by switching out the colors, or even using DSP for the balloon shapes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,
