Winter Friends with Warm Wishes

It's, once again, time for a challenge over at 613 Avenue Create!  This week, our optional twist is to make a shaped card.

This week, I'm using the adorable "Winter Friends" digistamp from our sponsor Rick St. Dennis.

As is kind of typical for me, the final card wound up being completely differently from what I'd envisioned in my head!

I started by coloring the adorable image.  I wanted to make it look as though he was peeking in a window, so i stamped some pieces kraft cardstock with a woodgrain, and used dimensionals to layer them.  I added a sheet of acetate behind the window, then used clear stickles and snow-tex to give the window a frosty effect around the edges.

I used my Silhouette to cut a few swirls from some of the paper, and glittered them up.  Then I layered some different flower elements from my stash, along with some snowflakes cut from vellum.

This is an easel card, so I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of the paper, and embossed it in gold.  I layered that with another paper, and popped that up on dimensionals.

As I said, I had a very different idea of where I was going with this when I started, but I like the end result!

Be sure to drop on by 613 Avenue Create to see what my teamies have been up to!

  1. Sara - that is a really cute easel card! I really like the window with his nose bent pressed against the window! And lovely paper on those swirls.
