Last Post of 2013 - Thank you

Wow - 2013 flew by in a blur!  And I have to say that, this year, more than most, I'm glad to close the proverbial door.  It's time for a fresh start, and some new adventures.

The stockings are scattered throughout the house.  The wrapping paper and boxes hauled away to the landfill, and the presents tucked away for the year.  All that's left to do of Christmas is the thank you notes sent out.  I don't know about you, but in all the hustle of prepping for the holidays - the last minute Christmas cards, the baking, the shopping, the endless wrapping - I never seem to think to have my thank you notes ready before hand.

Luckily, I had this simple idea in the back of my head.  This Christmas was the first time I've really gotten "into" the washi tape thing, and even then, I mostly just used it on my envelopes.  So, I had several rolls left over,  I layered a white card base with kraft cardstock and white cardstock.  Then I added a few strips of those pretty tapes.  I topped that with a small tag that I cut from a light weight chipboard on the die-cut machine at my local scrapbook store (also known as - my job).  The "thank you" is a Doodlebug cardstock sticker.  I inked the tag edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, and added some red baker's twine to finish it off.  Super quick and easy to assembly line this card to create a whole bunch!

And I want to say a big, GIANT, thank you to my followers.  If I could send each of you your own thank you card I would.   I so appreciate your support, and encouraging comments.  I will see you in 2014!!

Happy New Year!

  1. Sara, this is a beautiful CAS design. I was just staring at a couple of rolls of Washi Tape that I want to use on a project...you have inspired me! Your use of color (making you tag from the same kraft paper as your base) is elevating and keeps the eyes from wandering away form your focal group. Very nicely conceived and beautifully executed! Thanks for dropping this off by our house here at 613 Avenue Create!
