Candlelight Whimsy

Welcome to that weird "what day is it?" period between Christmas and New Year's (it's Tuesday, btw!).  I hope you have been having a fantastic holiday season so far.    Today's card features several wintery items.   January, in Idaho, is a long, gloomy, month - especially for those who are affected by seasonal depression, or those who have a hard time navigating snowy sidewalks and roads.  I like to send a few extra cards out during this season, to hopefully bring a little cheer into someone's day.  

The focal image on today's card is from Whimsy Stamps.  I purchased this adorable Candle Light Whimsy, from Wee Stamps, as a digital image, but it is also available as a physical stamp.  I printed my image at 30% opacity, onto my usual white card stock, and colored it in using Polychromos pencils.  I added white dots ("snow") to the image using a white gel pen, and darkened the details of the faces with a black pen.  

Once the image was colored, I die cut it using a circle die.  I also die cut another circle from navy card stock.  While my machine was out, I also die cut some Winter Snowflakes from white card stock.  

The sentiment, from the Home for Christmas Sentiment stamp set, was stamped onto a piece of the navy card stock, and heat embossed in white.  

I assembled all of the pieces, and put them on a white card base made from heavyweight white card stock.  As a final touch, I added a few clear gems.
