Easy Geek Chic Cards | Video

Hi there!  Today I'm sharing two cards that are super easy, and the layout is a great simple one to keep in your arsenal.

These easy clean and simple cards were created with the Geek Chic and Grid Paper stamps from Fun Stampers Journey.

For these cards, I'm using the Grid Paper background stamp, and the Geek Chic stamp set.

I started off by stamping the background onto two pieces of A2 sized Whip Cream card stock panels.  I used Tin Pail ink on one panel, and Pool Party ink on the second.

I cut two pieces of card stock at 2.5" wide, to stamp my center panels.  I stamped and heat embossed the computer and glasses image, and the sentiment, on one panel.  I trimmed that down a bit, and stamped the pocket protector image randomly on the background stamped in Tin Pail.  I added the center panel on foam squares, then added a few googly eyes to the computer image.  Then I adhered the card front to a top folding Whip Cream card base.

For the second card, I stamped the atom image in Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, and Candy Apple, on the background with the Pool Play grid.  Then I stamped the atom image in River Stone on the center panel I had cut.  I stamped the sentiment beneath in Candy Apple, and trimmed down the center panel.  I adhered the card front to another card base, and added the center panel with foam squares.

Too Many Tabs

There are days that the sentiment on today's card is far too true for me.  And I'm not sure if it's because there is just too much data bogging me down, or if it's because there's music coming from somewhere and I just can't figure it out!

Created using the Fun Stampers Journey Geek Chic stamp set, this card is perfect for an apology card, or any occasion card.

The card was very simply made by stamping the light bulbs on a piece of Whip Cream card stock, and then adding a bit of color to the centers with PanPastels.  The sentiment was heat embossed onto the Black Licorice card stock, and then trimmed to have the point (a reverse fishtail banner?).

♥♥♥ My procedure went very well yesterday.  It seems to have fixed the heart arrhythmia that I was suffering from.  I'm resting up this weekend, and hoping to be back to full swing of things next week! Thank you for the well wishes and prayers! ♥♥♥

Talk Nerdy

During the FSJ Better Together Convention last month, I led one of the breakout sessions on Color Theory.  As I was prepping that session, I was putting together examples of different colors from the FSJ line that fit the types of color combinations.  I REALLY liked a few of these sample combinations, and they made their way into the cards I was also prepping for my Designer Showcase samples board.

Clean, simple, and a little nerdy. This fun card was created using the new Geek Chic and Grid Paper stamps from Fun Stampers Journey.

This particular combination was one of the first I tried.  I really liked the colors together, but also didn't want a card that was too bright.  So I used a lot of Whip Cream, and created masks using the circle dies, to mask off small sections to stamp.  I rotated the stamp a little when I stamped the Sweet Berry, so that the lines were at a different angle.  My sentiment and the glasses image were both heat embossed in black onto vellum, and then once the card was put together, I added Journey Glaze "lenses" to the glasses.

Geek Chic

Launch Week Day 6 - getting close to the end of daily inspiration!

Today's card is super simple and sweet.  However, the fun images and sentiments from the Geek Chic Stamp Set, don't really need a whole lot of embellishment.

This sweet and simple card featured the brand new Fun Stampers Journey stamp set Geek Chic.

I stamped my image on my card front in River Stone Ink, and then stamped it again onto a piece of scrap Whip Cream card stock in Candy Apple, and fussy cut out the glasses.  Then I stamped my sentiment below the image in clear pigment ink, and heat embossed it in gold.  I matted the card front onto another piece of Whip Cream, and then attached that to a Whip Cream Card Base using foam squares.  I attached the glasses, again with foam squares, and coated the lens area in Journey Glaze.  While still wet, I sprinkled Sparkle Dust over the glaze.  Once it had dried, I tapped my card on my desk to knock off the excess Sparkle Dust.
