Pretty Poinsettia Card

I want to thank you for your patience with me during the recent bloggy absence.  My mother has been ill, and wound up in the hospital over the Thanksgiving holiday.  She is now living with me until she can get her strength back up.  We spent the last week getting settled, and now are working on finding our routine that works for us.   My time for creating will be limited for the time being, but it will be oh-so-important for me to have that creative escape!

Are you done creating your Christmas cards, or are you still finishing them off?  I used to be pretty
"on the ball" with my cards, and got them in the mail the day after Thanksgiving, but the last couple years, it seems that I'm still creating cards up until a few weeks before Christmas.  I do tend towards a slightly more "generic" Christmas card during this time frame though - something I can use as a thank you card or for well-wishes.

Today's card was very simple  I started by stamping my poinsettia images, and the leaves, then die cut them out.  I also dry embossed a piece of Whip Cream card stock while I had my machine out.  Then I layered everything together with a piece of printed paper from the Cheer paper pack.  A few sequins, and a little sparkle silk applied to the flowers with a blending brush and water, finished the card off.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

All I Want for Christmas | The Full Set

One more card from this week's Christmas set. Keep scrolling to see the full ensemble, along with a bonus card that was shown on my Instagram previously.

Clean and Simple handstamped Christmas Card - created using the Fun Stampers Journey Merry Everything Stamp Set, and the Cozy Winter Prints.

For this card, I die cut a piece of the printed paper into a heart shape.  I layered that onto Whip Cream card stock, and added a heat embossed piece of Cranberry Bliss card stock that was cut with a fishtail banner end.  I added two stamped and fussy cut reindeer, and then mounted the whole card front onto a piece of Raspberry Berry card stock for a mat, then onto a Whip Cream card base.

This whole set is so cute!  I love the clean and simple feel of each of the cards - and they all came together so quickly.  They would be so easy to create in multiples, and have all of your Christmas cards done!

The fourth card was one I created and posted on Instagram a few weeks ago when I was creating these cards.  I like a little humor, so I couldn't resist hanging the stockings from the reindeer's antlers.  The image was colored in with Journey Color Burst Pencils.

Happy Always

Today, I'm sharing another Christmas card made using the Cozy Winter Prints, and the Merry Everything Stamp Set.

Simple Christmas card with a slight 1950's retro feel. Created using the Fun Stampers Journey Merry Everything Stamp Set, and the Cozy Winter Prints.

For this card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto some Cranberry Bliss Card Stock.  Then I die cut a circle with the sentiment offset.  I die cut two circles from the prints, and then stamped and fussy cut the reindeer image.  I sprinkled some sparkle silk over the card front with the circles on it, before adhering the reindeer (with a Candy Apple Twine bow around his neck) to the card with foam squares.  I used a pink colored pencil to add just a little flush to the reindeer's face, and darkened in the hooves with a black pencil.

Come back on Friday to see the rest of the Christmas set that I created with this stamp set and paper pack!

Merry Everything

I love the Cozy Prints paper pack.  There is such a fun variety of prints ranging from simple and cozy to bright and fun in this pack.  The colors in the brighter prints give me a slightly 1950s vintage vibe.  So, of course, I had to pair them with the Merry Everything stamp set - which has that same slightly retro feel.  And then I did it again.  And again.  And again.  Well...you'll see!

This hand stamped Christmas card has a fun 1950's retro feel, thanks to the bright and cheery colors. Created using Fun Stampers Journey Merry Everything Stamp Set, and Cozy Winter Prints.

For today's card, I stamped the tree image in three different colors, along with stamping the star once.  I fussy cut all of the images, and then adhered them onto my card front, on top of a circle and strip of the printed papers.  I stamped my sentiment in the lower corner, and then matted the card front onto another piece of Whip Cream, and then onto a card base.  A few Fashion Silver pieces in the corners added a little shine and interest.

Come back on Wednesday, to see another card created with these same basic materials!

Matchy-Matchy | Coordinating Colors for Printed Papers

In the video, that was in Wednesday's post, I mentioned having a reference sheet stored inside my printed paper pockets - that listed the coordinating card stocks for each print.  These reference sheets were incredibly useful, however, the sheets listed every paper pack, and I only purchase the ones that best suit my style.   I would print the full sheet each time to tuck into my folders, but I've always had it in my mind that there had to be a better way.
So, I've separated out the graphics for your personal use, for all of FSJ's current printed paper packs.  This way, you only have to print the sets you have, or simply save them on your computer for reference.
