Positive Mental Vibes | Crafty Friends Blog Hop ft. Ellen Hutson

Hello!

Welcome back to another Crafty Friends Blog Hop

This month, we are featuring stamp sets from Ellen Hutson.  Ellen Hutson is a great "one stop shop" for numerous brands, and types of craft supplies, but they also have some of their own products in the Essentials by Ellen line.  And, as with previous months, those hopping with us today, have a special coupon code for 20% off of the Essentials by Ellen line, that is good for Oct 20-21.

I'm using the Essentials By Ellen Stamp Set "Voices in my Head".  I used just the original stamp set in today's card, but there is a second set - "Voices in my Head Vol. 2"  - with additional sentiments, or the "Speech Bubbles" die set, both of which coordinate with the original stamp set.

To begin this card, I inkblended a white A2 sized panel of card stock with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.  I used my Lifechanging Blending Brush to fade the ink from the top of the card.  Once I had the ink blended the way I wanted, I used my water brush to sprinkle drops of water onto the panel.  Then I sprinkled a little glitter using my Nuvo Shimmer Pen. I allowed that to dry before moving on.

Once the panel was dry, I trimmed down the panel to the size I wanted.  I used my MISTI to stamp the Essentials By Ellen Stamp Set "Voices in my Head" image and one of the sentiment onto my panel using Gina K Amalgam Ink.  Then I colored in the image using my Color Burst pencils.

Pencil Colors Used:
05, 08, 037, 039, 041, 048

After the coloring was completed, I added some dots to the eyes with my white gel pen.  Then I matted the panel onto a piece of white card stock, and then attached the card front to a white card base, using foam squares for a little dimension.

This card is super easy to make, and would be an easy way to stock up your cards for friends and family when they're having a rough day.

It's time to hop forward to Lydia's blog!  For your convenience, here's a handy list of the stops, in case you get turned around!
