Scrapbook Layout | Circles & Sweet Hearts

I realized, as I was preparing my projects for round two (!) of the Designer Showcase Opportunity, that I had not shared the scrapbook layout that I created in round 1.

I'm not much of a scrapbooker anymore.  I did layouts for several years, but it wasn't the craft I prefered, so it's not something I do often.  Thus, creating a layout made me a little nervous.  I pulled out one of my favorite layouts from years past, and used a photo from my wedding day as the focal image.

I stamped my dots background, by inking the stamp, and then taking a baby wipe and lightly wiping away ink from the edges, before stamping.  This gives a fun randomness to the edge of an otherwise very stark edged stamp.  I used the pierced dies to add some circles mixed in with the rings I had cut, and added some circles that had embossed flowers stamped onto them.  I inked those circles with both Pool Play, and Cool Pool inks, to keep the color from feeling too flat.  I splattered a little silk over the base of the layout before layering everything up.  Once the pieces were all adhered, I wanted a little contrast of color, which was added with the heart punch outs.

Now, back to the craft table to finish up those Round Two projects!  The deadline is soon, and I'm still madly creating.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,
