Shake your booty

Once again, it is time for a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create!  This week, our optional twist is to use Subway art on your card.

Our sponsor this week is SLS Lines

Now, as soon as I saw the image I used this week, I started humming a little KC & The Sunshine Band tune.  Those cute little dragonflies looked like they were dancing to me.  And with my shaker card obsession lately, it was pretty easy to see where the card was headed.

I colored the dragonfly stamp with Copics, and then went back in with colored pencils to add a bit more dimension.  I topped the bodies with Shimmerz Paints Inklingz in "freshly minted".  I used the Inklingz in "Misty Morning", "First Blush" and "Corney Flower Blue" on the wings of the dragonflies.

I printed my words off on my laser printer and topped that with some Heidi Swapp Minc foil in Rose Gold.  The shaker is filled with a variety of blue, green, and purple sequins I got from the Dollar Tree  along with some blue and green glitter.

As a final touch, I added a disco ball that I made years ago as part of a digital scrapbook kit.  I topped that with some Wink of Stella in clear to add a bit more shimmer.

Be sure to stop on by and see what the rest of the team has been up to at 613 Avenue Create.

  1. Sara - I absolutely love this piece! You have a knack for finding great images to work with - and a wildly creative way to use them - point taken with this work of art! The three bugs, the disco ball and a shaker box??!! How creative you are! Oh, and a big THANK YOU for the freebie subway art - I love and will use them for sure!
