A Hot Cup of...

A little while back I won a challenge at The Shabby Tea Room, and, as part of that, was offered a chance to be a guest designer for an upcoming challenge.  Well, of COURSE I said yes!  And today is the day I can show you the card I made.  So, the challenge this week is to create a card/project inspired by the photo to include a tea cup/tea pot/petit four/sweet treat plus lace/ribbon and pearls..  I chose to really use the colors from the photo as my inspiration,.  I also pulled the white painted (and distressed) metal pieces on the the table as well as the shape on the front of the little blue cards into my design.

My image is from the Graphics Fairy.  I desaturated the image a bit, as it had been colored in tones that didn't match my goal for this card.

The tea cup and steam swirls were cut on my Silhouette.  I used Distress ink to add some faux dimension to the cup, and then used embossing powder to create a golden handle, base and rim.  I also used a Momenta metal corner from my stash which was coated with white embossing powder and slightly distressed.

The paper I've used is DCWV "White Fern" 6x6 paper pack.  The background paper was chosen specifically because the shape echoed the shape on the card fronts in the inspiration photo (it's not exact, but similar).   I've used Iamroses flowers, pearl trim, ribbon and lace from my stash to bring in the white, aqua and pink tones.

The inside of the card was finished out simply.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to join the talented peeps over at The Shabby Tea Room this week!  Please be sure to go check out the talent displayed there!  Thanks for stopping by!
