Monster and Robots

I went a little crazy when this Doodlebug collection came in at work!  Having several grandsons to make birthday cards for, this was a perfect and fun collection to use.    So, the papers, sticker icons and washi were all from the Doodlebug "Hip, Hip, Hooray!" collection.

I added a little green glitter glue around the speech bubble with my sentiment.

Purple and Sparkly

It's time for another challenge at 613 Avenue Create .  Our twist this week is to incorporate 3 OF THE FOLLOWING SHAPES:  heart, arrow, star, octagon, triangle, circle, oval, square, rectangle.
The sponsor that I am working with this week is Rick St. Dennis, and I'm working with his fairy stamp called "Pansy".   This was a super easy image to color, and I used my eclectic collection of colored pencils to shade her in tones of purple.

The paper I've used is the DCWV "Once Upon a Time" Stack.  I added a bit of doily under a partial circle cut from one of the papers, and dotted some Liquid Pearls around the edge of the paper.

I chose to put my three shapes all into my sentiment.  So, a circle punch with "Believe" stamped onto it, with an arrow - topped with a heart punch - pointing to Pansy.  I edged the circle with clear Stickles, and added some to the heart shape.

For the inside, I used the remnant portion of the doily as well as cut another partial circle from a scrap of paper from the front of the card.

Be sure to stop over at 613 Avenue Create and see what fabulous thing my teamies have made this week!

Fandamonium

My granddaughter is a Whovian.  I guess I fit into that category as well.  For her 17th birthday I wanted something PERFECT for her card.  Something that was just right, right down to the envelope....

You can't go wrong with the Doctor and the Tardis (the ORIGINAL OTP), right?

Image of Matt Smith as the Doctor found online.  SVG file of the Tardis found here.

But a card that looks like a Tardis just isn't QUITE perfect....

The windows were coated with my clear Wink of Stella pen, and the light with my gold WoS.
Yes, I know the light should be blue, but I didn't have a blue pen.  ;-)

UNLESS it's bigger on the inside as well!

Crud!  The Daleks have the Tardis!  (All images found online)

And, of course, includes a bit of the wisdom the Doctor has shared.

Written with my Uniball Signo gel pen.

I was informed last night that the response to this card was that it was "epic!" and the "best card ever!"  Which is exactly the response I was hoping for. :)

A Hot Cup of...

A little while back I won a challenge at The Shabby Tea Room, and, as part of that, was offered a chance to be a guest designer for an upcoming challenge.  Well, of COURSE I said yes!  And today is the day I can show you the card I made.  So, the challenge this week is to create a card/project inspired by the photo to include a tea cup/tea pot/petit four/sweet treat plus lace/ribbon and pearls..  I chose to really use the colors from the photo as my inspiration,.  I also pulled the white painted (and distressed) metal pieces on the the table as well as the shape on the front of the little blue cards into my design.

My image is from the Graphics Fairy.  I desaturated the image a bit, as it had been colored in tones that didn't match my goal for this card.

The tea cup and steam swirls were cut on my Silhouette.  I used Distress ink to add some faux dimension to the cup, and then used embossing powder to create a golden handle, base and rim.  I also used a Momenta metal corner from my stash which was coated with white embossing powder and slightly distressed.

The paper I've used is DCWV "White Fern" 6x6 paper pack.  The background paper was chosen specifically because the shape echoed the shape on the card fronts in the inspiration photo (it's not exact, but similar).   I've used Iamroses flowers, pearl trim, ribbon and lace from my stash to bring in the white, aqua and pink tones.

The inside of the card was finished out simply.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to join the talented peeps over at The Shabby Tea Room this week!  Please be sure to go check out the talent displayed there!  Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Red & White

Super simple and quick Christmas card share today.  I had purchased some Recollections sparkle embossing powder, and wanted to play with it a bit.

I used a scrap of red cardstock to back my sentiment, then popped up that panel with some foam squares.

I had dry embossed the card front, and went back with my clear WoS pen to glitter up a few  random snowflakes.

The whole thing took less than five minutes, and I can mark one more Christmas card down in the "finished" column!
