Ornaments

I've completed the second of my Christmas cards for the year with this card.  I chose to go back to a die I had used for the last Christmas card of 2013, but use it in a little bit "different" way.


I cut two different patterned papers from the Teresa Collins Santa's List paper pack, with the MFT Chevron Cover Up Die.  I then pieced the two die cuts together on a sheet of lightweight card stock, and cut two circles from the resulting patterns.  


I used some clear glitter to "sugar coat" the bottoms of both circles, then glued some small rectangles cut from a scrap of mirrored card stock to adhere to the tops.  I added some twine bows to the mirrored pieces to complete the "ornaments".


The backside of one of the scraps left from cutting the cover up die was a perfect addition to the side of the card, along with some white card stock scallops and a bit of stitching.


All of the papers were edged with white Distress Paint before being adhered to the card base (made of heavy weight white cardstock).  The sentiment shown in the upper right was part of the paper, and fell perfectly in place with a bit of trimming.  


I've been kind of lax about showing the inside of my cards lately, mostly because the inside is typically very simply done with some of the coordinating papers from whichever pack I've used.  For today's card, I used a vellum sticker, along with some of the paper, and I added a bit of sparkle with my Wink of Stella pen on random diamonds in the patterned strip.
