May You Find a Treat Box of Gold

It's time for another challenge at 613 Avenue Create!  As always, this week's challenge is "Anything Goes" but with the optional twist of using an Irish saying/blessing/quote.

Coincidentally, it is also time for another of my monthly boxes to be sent to my grands.  This month I'm not altering a mailing box, but I did make a treat container for them.

I was able to use the super cute "Cynthia Fairy Pushing the Mushroom Cart" for my image this week.  The Stamping Boutique is one of our generous sponsors this week.  I cheated with this image a bit.  I knew I wasn't going to be able to get my background the way I wanted with markers, so I colored in the image and background on my computer, added my Irish Blessing and printed the whole thing.

I made the box out of green card stock - it is 5" x 5" with sides that come up 2.5".  I used my Fiskars scalloped border punch to punch the top edge all around the perimeter.  I lined both the inside and outside of the box with some of the Echo Park "Saint Patrick's Day" papers.  The twill ribbon is some that I got at work.

(In addition to the "treats" in the box, I'm also including this DVD I found that has both "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" and "The Gnome-Mobile" on it!  The kids might not be to impressed, but I'm sure their parents will get a kick out of it!)

I had cut shamrocks with my silhouette out of the same green card stock I made the container from, and then punched holes in them to be able to use them as a tag.    I tied them to the tops of clear treat bags, filled with Rolos, with some sparkly Offray ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to go check out the amazing inspiration being shared by my teammates over at 613 Avenue Create!
