Stuffed Stocking

This week is a our challenge for you is:

# 94 USE FABRIC

We are happy to welcome this week's sponsor ... Digi Darla's Designs! Our random prize winner will receive their choice of  FIVE images!

Of course, my mind is always working on items for Christmas!  So, for this challenge, I chose to make a tag shaped like a stocking.  I made the template for the stocking shape and then used my Silhouette to cut it out of cardstock.  I also cut the "ho ho ho" out.  Then I printed a second template and used that to cut the felt.

Once my image was colored, I added glitter glue to the white portions of Santa's hat, and also glittered the "ho ho ho" with some red glitter glue.  I, then, glued the felt down onto the cardstock and then stitched the edges.   Punching the hole at the top for the ribbon was difficult through the felt, but I managed to get the tips of my scissors in to cut any ragged pieces out that were left behind.  The image was mounted on foam tape and adhered to the stocking (a bit of liquid glue on every other foam dot helps it to stay), the "ho ho ho" was glued down with liquid glue.

I had cut out a second stocking and adhered it only on the sides and bottom to create a pocket.  I don't have candy canes around (in September at least!), so I used a Sharpie as a stand in.  The back is blank, but if I want to, I can add a message there when I use this tag.

Be sure to go see the other fabric creations that my teamies came up with!
