It's time for another new challenge at 613 Avenue Create!  

This week the optional twist to our ANYTHING GOES challenge is:

A Whiter Shade of Pale

use white and beige in your creation, with a bit of light pink and black for accent colors.

This week, I'm playing along with the Anything Goes portion of our challenge.  I'm using images by one of our sponsors for the week, Melonheadz.

I chose to use precolored images in my card this week.  These are great for those times when you want to get a card done quickly, and don't have a lot of time to color in an image.

Whelp....He's Flyin'

We're pulling a fast one on you this week at 613 Avenue Create, and switching around weeks!  So you get Team B twice in a row!  Our twist to the Always Anything Goes Challenge this week is to include some doodling on your project.

Our sponsor this week is Melonheadz Illustrations.   I've adored Nikki's adorable images for some time now.   She has super cute bundles in her shop and she also offers freebies from time to time on her blog.  She also includes pre-colored versions of a lot of her images, so they're perfect for those SUPER fast last minute cards.  

Today I'm using "Flying Pig" in the pre-colored version.  (Freebie found here.)  I simple printed him out and then added some clear Stickles to his wings.

For the background, I cut a panel of white cardstock to fit the front of the card, and then sprayed it with one of my homemade mists in blue.  I wanted to deepen the color at the bottom of the panel, so I went in with a bit of Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  I used a bit of sponge to dab white paint "clouds" onto the panel, and then doodled some lines around them to create a bit more of a cartoon-y cloud look.  I added the dashed line leading to where I was going to position the pig, and then added my handwritten sentiment (and, yes, again with my warped humor!).  When I was ready to assemble, I decided the background was too boxy, so I took my craft knife and cut a wavy edge to the panel.  Once I attached the panel to the card, I added a striped border around the outside, and some dots to the panel for a bit more interest.

The inside was left SUPER simple with a handwritten sentiment and wavy border drawn onto the page.

It's time for another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create!  This week we are all about the Anything Goes Challenge - no twists involved!  

I wanted to make a simple and sweet thank you gift as my project this week.  I was able to use some adorable Nutcracker images from one of our sponsors - Melonheadz - to decorate a wrap on a candy box.

I punched the scalloped borders from red cardstock, added a bit of paper from my stash, some May Arts ribbon, and stamped a thank you on with VersaMark, which I embossed in gold.

This week, we had this amazing gift tag bundle to work with, and I couldn't choose just one image!  So, I used a bunch.  

How's this for a simple neighbor gift for Christmas?  I colored up the tags in PSE, so that I could print them out in color.  I then adhered them to some red cardstock for a bit of extra weight.  A hole punched in the top and a bit of Offray ribbon, and the tags were finished!  

I've contained them in this cute little bag that I added some snow-tex to, along with a metal snowflake with a gem center, a sentiment (a Pebbles rub-on), and some twine.  This bag can be easily added to a roll of tape and roll of wrapping paper to create a festive and useful neighbor gift!

Called Upon

Super - SUPER - simple card today. I had the sudden realization that most of the cards I've made recently can't be posted yet, for...reasons...but I had made this card for my cousin, who left last week on a Spanish speaking mission.  I used Photoshop to create the background "paper" and the banner (which was translated by Google translate - I refuse to admit how many years it's been since my high school Spanish courses!).

The super adorable (and precolored) missionary stamp is from Melonheadz LDS.

I've chosen to use this, oh-so-adorable, baker image this week.  I have a MASSIVE sweet tooth, so anything sugary sweet is GREAT in my book!

This is my first 6x6 card in a long time, and it's kind of ginormous to me!  I added some super cute buttons in the top corner from my stash, sentiments made on my computer, as well as this shabby fabric flower that matched my theme so well.  

Do you see the candies printed on it?  The print is called Candy Lolly!  And because those flowers smoosh so nicely, I added one to the inside of the card as well.

Shamrocks EVERYWHERE

As you can imagine, with the last name Sherlock - we celebrate St. Patrick's Day in this house (even if it is in a very idealized version of St. Patty's!)!   If it can be dyed green - it is.  We eat loads of corned beef, cabbage (cooked two ways!), potatoes and soda bread.  We decorate with shamrocks, pinch those not wearing green and have even had a little leprechaun stop by to use the facilities (and leave CHARMING little footprints on the seat!).  It's a fun day for us!  And I can't leave the out-of-state grands out of the fun - this cute little card is headed their way.  

I couldn't decide between the super cute St. Patty's images - so there's actually FIVE of them on this card.   I used a leprechaun, pot, blarney coin, Erin coin, and shamrock coin.  

I used a white cardbase, and green cardstock to mat the shamrock paper from The Paper Studio.    The lacey paper strip in the back was made using a Martha Stewart page border punch.  There is a piece of Celebrate It! sheer ribbon on top.  I added some Dress it up shamrock decorations.  

After coloring all of the stamps, I realized that the coins just didn't have the gold tone I really wanted them to have.  So I added some clear embossing powder over the top and melted it from underneath.  Then I sprinkled a SUPER light coating of gold embossing powder on top and melted it into the clear from underneath.  I had to bring my heat tool to the top and "blow" the melted embossing material around a bit so that the image beneath was visible, but I LOVE the effect this gave the coins.  

The inside was done to mimic the layout on the front.
